Our Story
Lee Wood
Lee Wood is the author of ten books in the Trentbridge Crime series. His novels have sold tens of thousands of copies and amassed more than two million Kindle Unlimited page reads, earning him a loyal following among crime fiction readers.
Before becoming a full-time crime writer, Lee spent more than twenty years immersed in the music industry. From playing in bands as a teenager to running an indie record label and record shop during the punk rock era, he built a career surrounded by creativity, characters, and chaos. He also founded a music collector’s magazine, growing it into a successful publication with a monthly circulation of 14,000 copies
Over the years, Lee crossed paths with many of the biggest names in music and fulfilled a lifelong ambition by managing The Troggs, one of his favourite bands of all time.

That passion eventually evolved into both writing crime fiction and collecting it. Over many years, Lee amassed a personal library of more than 5,000 crime paperback books, ranging from vintage British thrillers and police procedurals to hard-boiled noir and modern serial killer novels.
Through Murder Book Club, he now shares that collection with fellow crime readers through carefully selected monthly subscription boxes, alongside signed copies of his own novels, each personally dedicated on request.
Lee lives in Cambridge, where he continues to write, read, collect, and dream up new ways to keep readers turning pages late into the night.
As a Gemini, he likes to joke that his “twin personalities” both contribute to his stories — one keeping things on the straight and narrow, the other plotting murder, deception, and the twists his readers have come to expect.
