Over many years, Lee has built up a personal library of more than 5,000
crime, thriller and mystery paperbacks — from vintage British crime and
police procedurals to hard-boiled noir, serial killer thrillers and forgotten
gems waiting to be rediscovered.

For a crime reader, it was heaven.

For anyone trying to find space in the house, it has becoming a problem.

So the Murder Book Club was born: a monthly subscription box for readers
who love real books, unexpected discoveries and the pleasure of receiving
something carefully chosen rather than picked by an algorithm.

Before becoming a full-time
crime writer, Lee spent more than twenty years in the music industry. He ran an
indie record label and record shop during the punk era, founded a music
collectors’ magazine with a monthly circulation of 14,000 copies, and fulfilled
a lifelong ambition by managing The Troggs.

That world was full of stories, characters, late nights and chaos —
useful training for a future crime novelist.

Through Murder Book Club, Lee now shares his own collection with fellow
crime readers, alongside signed copies of his novels, each personally dedicated
on request.

Lee lives in Cambridge, where he continues to write, read, collect and
dream up new ways to keep readers turning pages late into the night.

And as a Gemini, he likes to
say both sides of his personality are involved — one carefully choosing the
books, the other plotting murder, deception and the next big twist.
